The new Bronze Radio Return album “Up, On & Over” came out last week. (Available at iTunes, right heah) I was up to my eyeballs in other stuff so I haven’t had a chance to blather on about it yet, shame, because it’s pretty awesome. Check this out. Straight to the Billboard Heetseaker Chart. Look at these guys. Bands can learn from these guys.
They made a little video about it. Like to see it? Here ya go.
Heavy goodness from Spoken. Their new album, “Illusion” was released today. A particular joy, since screaming, raging loud guitars playing very heavy riffs and monster sized kick drums pounding constantly are just about my favorite thing in music….nay….life. I reallyreallyreally like ’em. So of course, I’m super proud of this one and had a great time working and hanging a bit with producer and do-er of many things, Jasen Rauch. He’s done a couple records. If you’re a listener of heavy stuff, this definitely deserves your attention. It’s super fun.
Check out Illusion on iTunes HERE – and try not to get a speeding ticket.
The Aristocrats. What a band. Today they release “BOING! We’ll Do It Live! At Alvas Showroom” for your “heavy on the notes” consumption. These guys are bonkers. Thick on groove and heavy on tone. Guthrie Govan, Bryan Beller and Marco Minneman (Guitar, Bass, Drums, respectively) are at “as good as it gets” level. When they play together, it’s a choir of crazy awesomeness with no voices. They feel what’s going on between them and it’s effortless. They have a little musical quote in there that makes me laugh every time I hear it. It also sounds pretty nice, if I do say so myself. And I do. I totally say so myself.
This is the second “The Aristocrats” album I’ve done, (the first being the studio recordings of lots of what’s on this set) and I’ve also mastered a couple other productions that Bryan has produced. He’s got a keen ear, unmatched diversity and is one of those guys that makes ya want to do the extra bit, because it’s AWESOME. And of course, I do the extra bit. I’m the extra bit guy. Whaddywant.
They have a slick deluxe set that has a two CD set of the show, a DVD with stereo and surround of the show (no surround mastering from me…only the stereo stuff…for now…muahhhhahahah) There’s some none deluxe stuff too. Don’t bother with that. You want the extra goodness. Get the deluxe set.
Hey! Look! A video taste of the show! Watch it!
Tons more info, of course, can be found at The Aristocrats Website and at their facepagebooktubescreen
I like cheese.
Dig this one. Owen Thomas, formerly the dude driving the bus (not actually a bus driver) for The Elms, has a new album out this week that was, of course, mastered by this guy right here. (I mean me.) It’s been produced by Owen and his long time friend and former The Elms guitar playerizer, Thom Daughtery (who also recorded and mixed this record) over the last year or two, and there’s a bucket load of content with it. He’s got lyric videos and all kinds of stuff. It’s a very cool record with a number of vibes in a package that still fits together. Very fun stuff. I don’ t mind saying that I think it sounds KILLER.
Here’s one. You should watch it. Use the HD – it sounds better.
There’s a ton more music to be had at his website, RIGHT HERE, his facebook is HERE his twitter is HERE his Soundcloud is HERE if ya want it…geez. Dude has links for weeks. I’m done. Got some Winter Jam to finish.
Now this right here is the OTHER side of a Christmas record. Full of rockin’ and inventive takes on Christmas classics. Gotee Records have always been the guys that do things a little differently, and here is a classic example. There’s always room for rocking out some holiday cheer. Check it out here on iTunes – Tis The Season To Be Gotee Too
Here it is kids. Francesca’s “Christmas” – what a fun record. It sounds GORGEOUS if I do say so myself, and it actually gets COLDER when you play it! (It doesn’t actually get colder when you play it)
This is a must have for the Christmas time. Go get it!
If you haven’t been hip to Francesca, you can check out her Facebook Page and her Twitter Thing – I don’t know her address or license plate number, so I hope those will do.
Living Anthem recently had an EP move through the knobs, tubes (both vacuum and interweb, thank you very much) and assorted other gadgetry here at the joint. It’s good one. It’s out today, and not your usual Tuesday release. Crafty fellers. You can check it out on their iTunes page right here, and if you’re so inclined, their FaceTubeBook page is over here. Maybe take a minute before lunch and check it out. Your boss won’t care.
I’ve been talking on and off about a project I’ve been working on all summer. Well. It’s out today – and it’s good. I love it. I listen to it for fun. It’s available for your steering pleasure (who knows what that’s from?) at The Smoking Section. They talk a bit about it too. You should definitely check it out if you’ve got a minute and like inventive music. He runs the bases of narly hip hop, smooth old soul, acoustic love man and some stuff that’s just not much like anything else I’ve heard. It’s good fun. Dig it. He’s got the FacePage there and the Tweet thing as well. He’s also just about the nicest guy you’ll ever meet. That goes a long way doesn’t it? Sure gets your mastering guy on board with the InterFlogging!
