Mastered Here, No. 1 This Week – Jason Gray – “Nothing Is Wasted”

Hey!  Look!  Another #1 on the Radio and Records charts.  This time it’s Jason Gray’s single, “Nothing Is Wasted”, brought to us by the nicest people in the world at Centricity Music.  I’ve done many, many songs for Jason, and they usually manage to stick in my head for a while.  This is no exception.  Check out the video and the silky smooth delivery of what sounds like the most relaxed dude on the planet.

Mastered Here: Spoken – “Through It All” (Video) – This Rocks Socks

Spoken-CoverWhat can I tell ya.  I love the heavy stuff – if it has a good melody, riff and kick drums, I’m a goner.  I mastered the new album from Spoken a few months ago – it’s finally out and rocking heads off with a tidy balance of all these things.  Jasen Rauch produced it.  He’s pretty awesome.  Ainslie Grosser mixed it.  He rocks too.  The first single is currently #2 on the Radio & Records Christian Rock Chart.

Here’s the video.  Utilize that volume knob/slider/clicky thing you use to make rock louder.  Also click on the little gear in the corner to get the HD version.  YouTube swishy cymbals are no bueno.

Jason Aaron Coons – “Best Friend” – So good. So good.

Ya know, some days it’s just easy.  When a song is this good, and it’s engineered as well as this stuff was, it’s hard to go wrong.  This record got a little more of a push in mastering than many…it’s just one of those that loved having the lights doing flashy things, and the meters doing wavy things.  All while not being crushed.

The album comes out this week.  It’s worth picking up.  The whole thing is killer.

The video is gorgeous.  I think it catches the vibe and sentiment of the song perfectly.  Sit back and have a listen.  Maybe turn that volume knob clockwise just a bit.  Enjoy the dynamics.  It’s good for ya.

Oh yeah.  Made in Indiana.  Like me!
