Dwan Hill: Very, very snappy. Mastered here, video-ed….over there. Tots favs.

I really just put “Tots favs” in a post.  I might need to be punched in the neck, but it just cracks me up.  Hate me if ya wanna.

Anywho-

Do ya know Dwan Hill ?  He’s maybe a genius.  I think so.  Dude is inventive beyond twice his years.  I can’t fathom what he’ll be doing in 20.  I do REALLY hope I’m still the dude mastering them then, ’cause I think the guy is an out of control monster of creativity and quirk with knowledge and mastery of many genres.  His album will tour you through Motown, vaudville and James Taylor’s living room.  Love the dude.  You will too if you know what’s good for ya.

Here’s a link to his Facebook page.  It’s got lots of interesting stuff in it.

Here’s the video for “He” – ya’d think it was done when Starsky & Hutch were on after CHiPS.

Spoken has a #1 Radio Single with “Calm The Storm” – Nice one guys. Heavy is fun.

Screen Shot 2013-11-01 at 10.52.58 AMDig the goodness.  I really like this record, and it was the utmost fun to master.  It was a Friday, it was loud, and I grinned a lot.  Also made a mark on my desk with my wedding ring because of the air drumming.  Well.  Desk drumming.  You know what I mean.  Records from Jason Rauch are always fun.  Dude brings the rock properly.

Spoken

Wanna hear it?

Mastered Here, No. 1 This Week – Jason Gray – “Nothing Is Wasted”

Hey!  Look!  Another #1 on the Radio and Records charts.  This time it’s Jason Gray’s single, “Nothing Is Wasted”, brought to us by the nicest people in the world at Centricity Music.  I’ve done many, many songs for Jason, and they usually manage to stick in my head for a while.  This is no exception.  Check out the video and the silky smooth delivery of what sounds like the most relaxed dude on the planet.

Friday Is Better When There’s A No. 1 In It

PhotoYeah, it’s been forever since I’ve done one of these.  Time to catch up people…’cause there’s a Numero Uno position held by Spoken’s single “Through It All” on the Radio & Records Christian Rock Chart.  See, that’s fun, because I mastered it, and it kinda seriously rocks.  Also fun is the little app to make the little circles over there.  Fancy.  I know.  You may also notice that For A Season are climbing the chart there too, up to 6 for 11.  There’s some happy dudes.  What would this post be without a complete rundown?  Shorter.  I know.  It won’t hurt much.

On the Christian AC Radio Chart…

#4 “Redeemed” from Big Daddy Weave (Also on the CHR Chart)

#14 “Good To Be Alive” from Jason Gray – 41 weeks on that chart!

#15 “Strangely Dim” From Francesca Battistelli (This one’s on the CHR Chart too)

On the Soft AC, we’ve got Francesca AGAIN with her “Strangely Dim” at #8, and Jason Gray’s “Nothing Is Wasted” bringin’ it all home at #18.  Fun times.  Lots of good songs.  Hope ya like ’em.

Have a great weekend everybody!

Mastered Here: Spoken – “Through It All” (Video) – This Rocks Socks

Spoken-CoverWhat can I tell ya.  I love the heavy stuff – if it has a good melody, riff and kick drums, I’m a goner.  I mastered the new album from Spoken a few months ago – it’s finally out and rocking heads off with a tidy balance of all these things.  Jasen Rauch produced it.  He’s pretty awesome.  Ainslie Grosser mixed it.  He rocks too.  The first single is currently #2 on the Radio & Records Christian Rock Chart.

Here’s the video.  Utilize that volume knob/slider/clicky thing you use to make rock louder.  Also click on the little gear in the corner to get the HD version.  YouTube swishy cymbals are no bueno.

Out Today: Spoken – “Illusion” – HeavyAwesomeGoodTimes

Spoken-CoverHeavy goodness from Spoken.  Their new album, “Illusion” was released today.  A particular joy, since screaming, raging loud guitars playing very heavy riffs and monster sized kick drums pounding constantly are just about my favorite thing in music….nay….life.  I reallyreallyreally like ’em.  So of course, I’m super proud of this one and had a great time working and hanging a bit with producer and do-er of many things, Jasen Rauch.  He’s done a couple records.  If you’re a listener of heavy stuff, this definitely deserves your attention.  It’s super fun.

Check out Illusion on iTunes HERE – and try not to get a speeding ticket.

Out Now: Owen Thomas – “Languages.”

Dig this one.  Owen Thomas, formerly the dude driving the bus (not actually a bus driver) for The Elms, has a new album out this week that was, of course, mastered by this guy right here.  (I mean me.)  It’s been produced by Owen and his long time friend and former The Elms guitar playerizer, Thom Daughtery (who also recorded and mixed this record) over the last year or two, and there’s a bucket load of content with it.  He’s got lyric videos and all kinds of stuff.  It’s a very cool record with a number of vibes in a package that still fits together.  Very fun stuff.  I don’ t mind saying that I think it sounds KILLER.

Here’s one.  You should watch it.  Use the HD – it sounds better.

There’s a ton more music to be had at his website, RIGHT HERE, his facebook is HERE his twitter is HERE his Soundcloud is HERE if ya want it…geez.  Dude has links for weeks.  I’m done.  Got some Winter Jam to finish.
