Charting Tunes

I’ll bet you’ve wondering where my chart updates have been…haven’t you.

I’ve had a pretty hectic couple of weeks, filled with Christmas crooning, dance beat pounding, punk rock shredding and some earthy indie stuff occupying my days.  So I’ve not been up on the charts.  The time to rectify that is right…now.

So what have we here?

It seems that Big Daddy Weave have the #4 spot on the iTunes Christian & Gospel Chart.  That’s fun.  This song and album have been around for a long time.  Congrats to them for some nice longevity.  It’s great when a song catches people so widely.

The Radio & Records Christian AC National Air Play Chart

BIG DADDY WEAVE “Redeemed” FERVENT/WORD-CURB (at #5, look at ’em go!)

PETER FURLER – “I’m Alive”

How about the CHR Chart?  Wanna see what’s on that?

REMEDY DRIVE – “Better Than Life” CENTRICITY (So there are a few versions of it out there.  I mastered at least one of them.  I’m taking it)

MATT MOORE – “Fading Fast” – Dude has been on there forever.

ASHES REMAIN – “Unbroken” – them too.  On the charts forever.  Love that record too.

Wanna get some goodness put on your tunes?  Mayhaps you should click an email thing and get some time booked.  It’d be good for ya.

Today: Bumpin’ Sounds from Rio Ville

You may be able to hear the bass from here.  Today I’m finally getting solid work done on my man Rio’s album, in hot anticipation for his listening party tomorrow at County Q Studio in Berry Hill.  He’s got a very inventive mix of pop, hip hop and soul, all rolled up and packaged with some awesome switch at the end.  He’s a fairly brilliant producer and writer, and it’s a real pleasure to work on his stuff and work with him.  You really should check out his fan page over at the FaceThingPage.  You can do that here – Rio Ville Facebook or you can follow his tweets, which often contain links to his music and videos right HERE

A Monday Variety Pack

What a day!  A variety pack indeed.  So far I’ve worked on screaming chick rock from Uncommon Road, some seriously great SoulHop from Rio Ville (my term, not his) some vibey Christmas rock from Starfield, some spanish jazz fusion and some pop en Espanol from a nice dude I just met and I haven’t figured out who his artist is yet.  Sometimes I kinda roll like that.  Detroit, Nashville, San Diego and later some punk from South Georgia for the guys in Stages and Stereos.  What an awesome day of stuff from all over the map, figuratively and literally.  But now it’s time for an ear break, grab some cat food and possibly take a bit out of this Starbucks card that’s burning a hole in my wallet.

Mastered Here: Ben Wells – Country That Rocks

There’s something happening here.  What it is ain’t exactly clear.  I’ve been doing country records.  Cool ones.  I used to do two country records a year, and now I’ve done five in two months.  Apparently I’m good at it.  The really cool bit?  Most of them are out of towners.  Not the Nashville set.  (Not sure I’m fancy enough for those cats.  They’ll know soon enough.)

Ben Wells is one of those out of towners.  Georgia baby.  Land of my smokin’ hot wife and my new fandom of UGA football.  (I think I’m supposed to make a woofing noise now.  Not doing it.  I’m from Indiana and I’m stubborn.)  The south of the south.  This goodness was mixed by my long time long distance producer/engineer buddy Lee Dyess at Earthsound Recording in Valdosta, GA.  Lee’s got serious rock, punk and hardcore skills, and his heavy pedigree mixed with Ben’s rockin’ country songs has made something very, very cool.  The new single, “Get Down” is getting some serious love from That’s Music To Me blog.  Read the review here.  The single is out on September 11.

I’ll totally tell you all about it then too.  Howyalikemenow?
